Synergies crucial in supply chain

Mujahid, a warehouse keeper, was preparing some products for distribution when MadeinIndonesia.com team arrived shortly before midday on April 7, 2021.

After a brief introduction, the man in his 20s and his friend walked inside the huge warehouse and returned with a variety of products from different brands using a hand pallet truck.

This is the warehouse of PT Cahaya Inti Putra Sejahtera (CIPS), a distributor of multi brand food and beverage products serving Greater Jakarta area.

So various was the snack, condiment and beverage products distributed by PT CIPS that almost all restaurants and cafes in Greater Jakarta source those items from this distributor company.

MadeinIndonesia.com team visited the warehouse to take pictures of those items and, later, to be posted on the platform’s global storefront so that international buyers will have a better idea about the products before putting orders.

Taking pictures, editing them and posting them on a dedicated mini site within MadeinIndonesia.com marketplace platform is part of the services provided by the B2B cross-border e-commerce platform.

Aside from PT CIPS, MadeinIndonesia.com team has previously taken photos for other companies, such as for PT Panji Rama Otomotif (PRO-Motor), the authorized dealer company that provides sales and after-sales service department for automobile, specifically for the premium car brand Mercedes-Benz, for leather bag producer Pepari and for Muslim fashion Priskila.

“This activity [taking photos] is to help the registration process with MadeinIndonesia.com platform. This will also make the display of our member’s products looks nice,” said MadeinIndonesia.com Sr. B2B Sales Manager Giovanny Tutupoly.

MadeinIndonesia.com provides its members not only supports related to export process and documentations but also dedicated individuals to manage each member’s mini site or global store front.

While some MadeinIndonesia.com members can produce photos and upload them by themselves. Some others have no experience how to produce good photos and to upload photos on the mini site.

This B2B global e-commerce platform is here to help Indonesian manufacturers, wholesale traders and suppliers access potential market overseas with the creation of global storefronts.

“Frankly, we have no experience [in doing export]. Fortunately, we meet MadeinIndonesia.com,” said Ade, a manager with PT CIPS.

“We trust MadeinIndonesia.com team can help us in marketing [our products and boost export],” he said.

Ade said he hopes MadeinIndonesia.com can develop well and help Indonesian manufacturers and business players to access global market and to boost their sales.

“It [the platform] is OK. I think it can develop well,” he said.

Understanding and collaboration between MadeinIndonesia.com as a B2B global e-commerce platform and Indonesian business players will pave the way for a successful effort to expand global market access and, eventually, to boost export.

Synergies among stakeholders are crucial.
