SGS PROGEC RENEWED IN GABON

24 Sep 2020

On August 21, 2020, SGS has had the "Programme Gabonais d'Evaluation de la Conformité" (PROGEC) renewed in Gabon.

As a result, SGS is able to assess and confirm that imported products meet with the relevant national and/or international quality standards.

Under this new mandate, the Agence Gabonaise de Normalisation (AGANOR), has extended the list of regulated products under the program. All chapters of the harmonized system, except food (01 to 24), are now subject to the program. The minimum threshold has also been reduced to EUR 1,000 instead of EUR 3,000.

In addition, AGANOR has authorized SGS to implement the forthcoming Export Monitoring Program. This will support and expand Gabonese exports in the coming African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA) framework to ensure local manufactured products are compliant with national and international standards.
